In some cases the best protection is to maintain a Trade Secret. In other cases, protection is provided by filing Patents, Trademarks, Designs or Copyrights.

Services to Law Firms

Only large law firms or Intellectual Property firms have expertise in Intellectual Property law. We are an Intellectual Property law firm that provides our expertise to small and medium sized law firms in Canada, so that they can service the needs of their clients. We are able to compliment the existing services being provided by the law firm.

Services to Private Inventors

We assist inventors from conception, through proto-type development, Patent protection, Design protection (where applicable), Trademark protection (where applicable) to commercialization or licensing.

Services to Foreign Associates

Thompson Cooper LLP files Patents, Trademarks, Designs, and Copyrights on behalf of Canadians in countries all over the world through a network of Foreign Associates. We also receive instructions from Foreign Associates and file Patents, Trademarks, Designs and Copyrights in Canada on behalf of persons residing and businesses located outside of Canada.
